I believe that Assembla hasn't given me (me at least) any reason to leave.
But i could just later use github as a backup for project, though.

Doesnt really need to be github mainly due to the recent shutdown l2jserver suffered there but bitbucket seems to be a good alternative.

The most importand imo is to move from svn to git.

    Code:

    Git sucks.
But could be used as a backup as DnR stated above.

There is no need to change to GIT, the only person who manages the repository is DnR.

GIT is an environment for contributions from the community towards a common project, in other words, a single project with many people.

    [sarcasm]
God forbid many people contribute to this project. DnR doesnt need help at all.

One thing is that there are people who contribute to the project, DnR integrates them directly into the project repository.

Another thing is that several people can control the repository and with it commits.
    ______
Even if Lisvus used GIT, DnR would be the only person who could intergrate the changes proposed by other people to the repository.

I fully understand that Assembla is a pain for many of you.
What matters to me now, is taking care of few more planned updates.
Then, I believe we could upload a stable branch anywhere.

Thank you all for caring so much for this project.

    Regards
    DnR

Just because most of newer server owners used to git (l2jacis/l2jserver)
it shouldn't mean we need to move there too.

I personally like to work with eclipse.
And for that....SVN works way better then git.

    Just my 5 cents.

I dont know if you know this but eclipse has git support since as long as i can remember.
Also with git you dont need to install subversion dependencies and extra shit like that, its all being handled through eclipse.
Also i dont know if it has been mentioned before but with git you also have a local repo in case the main one goes offline.
Theres nothing really to loose by changing to git. Just tell me a negative thing about git and ill shut up about it.
